Reply from Shan, Age 19 - 05/02/06 - IP#: 24.200.113.xxx Hey! 1600 calories from exersize is way too much. Without any exersize, you burn around 2000 calories. So if you eat 1700 calories, you'll eventually lose weight because you are burning more then you're eating. If you eat 1700 calories and burn 300 from exersize, then it's as if you're eating 1500 calories (you are 500 cals less then 2000). If you did that for 7 days, you will lose one lb of fat. If you want to lose more then that, you can exersize more or eat less, but eating less then 1200 cals will have worst effects. It will slow your metabolism and you will lose weight slower. It will increase the likelyhood of binging because your body knows it's not getting enough nutrients so you crave a binge. It will affect your mood, make you tired and make you gain weight back because of the binges and because of the lack of nutrients. Try to eat a lot of grains, fruits and vegetables, milk and have some protein with each meal. This way you will lose fat faster. Hope that helps.
Reply from Teresa, Age 14 - 05/02/06 - IP#: 207.200.116.xxx hey i asked that question too, i mean if i eat aboout 1200 calories a day does that mean i need to burn off 1300? Go to www.toneteen.com and figure out how many calories your body burns daily. like i think its somewhere over 2000 calories depending on your body of course. subtract how many calories you have, like lets say 2000-1200=800 the higher the number the more weight your losing. but remember you need to get that number higher by excersizing, dont eat less than 1200!
