Ht. 5'5, Wt. 142 - Bad day. Bad week. Bad past few weeks. *sigh* It's so hard to get on the right track when all my family ever brings home is sweets and that sort of stuff. I've been under some major stress lately as well, and I'm an emotional eater. If I'm mad at someone...I reach for the Teddy Grahams. It's time to get back on track. I'm so worried I'm going to regain the 40 that I've lost, but they always say that normally, you should have around 2,000 if you aren't dieting, right? I'd still like to get down a few more, maybe to 135. Anyways, do you guys have any advice for me? On making the treadmill more interesting? It seems like I'm always staring at the wall.

Reply from Marina, Age 18 - 08/03/06 - IP#: 71.19.42.xxx I find that the best way to make running interesting is to get outside & put on your MP3 player. It makes it fun. I love to run. But I hate being on a treadmill. I feel like a hamster going nowhere. If you run outside you get all the different scenery as well as the feeling of actually going somewhere. You can actually see how far you've gone.
Reply from Lauren to all, Age 18 - 08/03/06 - IP#: 65.78.226.xxx Hey guys! Thanks for the tips. I've tried the listening to music tip a few times before, and it seems to help some. The only problem is that I have my CD player with me, which isn't exactly treadmill friendly. It skips a lot. I think I need to invest in something a bit better. ;) I had a talk with my parents earlier, and I requested that they keep the junk food away from me. I think it would benefit all of us here in the house if they wouldn't bring it in at all, but I don't really have the authority to do that. I also requested that whenever they bring me home something to eat, that they bring it from Subway. I've been doing a lot of eating at KFC and Wendys lately. My last request was that someone walk with me out on the road atleast on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The other two days I guess I could go to the treadmill. Anyways, I'm pumped to get back on the wagon that I fell off of several weeks ago. Thanks for the advice, and best of luck to the rest of you. :D

I have an idea that might be more fun than the treadmill. Download some really fun clubby/dance music and dance to it or run to it on the treadmill. Just do stupid crazy dance moves and before you know it, an hour has gone by...and so has some calories. It is a lot of fun.

The walls are boreing and if you watch someone else just to be watching somthing they seem to get mad at you. I stair at ppl a lot. Bad bad habbit. If you like running or have the capibility to do it. Try cross country. It's a lot more fun to run when you have things to see and places to run.
