The trick is this: ask your parents to buy you salad (but try to buy the dark green salad, it has SO much more nutriants than the iceberg) and eat that BEFORE your meal, not with it. Salad is low in calories and fills you up, which is good. After that, help yourself to a slice of bread. What I do is have a plain piece; no garlic, margarine, nothing. Also, it would help to take off the crusts, sparing a few calories. ;) After that comes the main course. If you have rice you should have it plain, especially if your family is like mine where they serve fried rice with other foods mixed in. For pasta I suggest asking your parents to try vegetarian pasta, which is a lot healthier. But if they won't budge just take a small piece and chew it slowly. It takes your body 20 minutes to tell the brain it's full, and eating slowly can help you not overeat. Vegetarian pasta can be a bit ... different, so wean yourself into it. And remember, just because it's healthier for you doesn't mean you can eat more of it. :) Also, try not to eat desserts with a ton of sugar. Since you're making over your dinner to be more body healthy, sugar would basically ruin it. (Sugar is stored in places like the stomach, thighs, and upper arms) Good luck and happy eating!
