Ht. 5'6", Wt. 159 - I was wondering....can you really excercise too much? I excercised like 2 and a half hours today and my mom says it's bad to excercise too much because you will lose weight and then when you stop excercising that much you will gain it back. What do you think is a good ammount? I was thinking maybe 1 hour 6 days a week or something. I need to find an ammount that I maintain doing.

Yeah, you can exercise too much. It's a form of bulimia. But 2 1/2 hours isn't really that much. I have track practices longer than that some days. To gain weight (either gain it back or just gain some more) you have to burn less calories than you consume. So if you stop exercising and continue eating what you are eating, you will be consuming the same, but burning less, so chances are that you would gain weight.

2 hours isnt that bad. it actually depends on how much you move in during the day. like me im super lazy so like probably the only movement i get is when i do my 3 hours excersize besides walking around school or whatever lol. but i dont do any sports or anything. and excersize is the only thing you never gain back. i was like 230 and i went to 180 by just excersizing and healthy food. now i dont have a lot of time for excersize and my weight keeps going up and down but i havent gained any that i lost from my excersizing

i exercised as much as you i stopped for a week i gained 0 pounds but now im exercising an hour a day and still getting results
