Usually when i exercise i don't get cramps...does this have something to do with lack of endurance? is there anything to do while im running to make them go away? yeah if anyone knows why you get them im curious about that too. thanks and good luck everyone!

Reply from Kaylee, Age 14 - 03/25/07 - IP#: 69.19.14.xxx Being a runner I know those cramps all to well. The one's in your side that make you want to kneel over and forget you ever wanted to work out. First of great job on finishing in a power walk!! Second your cramps probably came from a food you ate or didn't eat. If you just drank a lot of something it will give you those cramps. Sugary foods can do it. I know someone that turkey did it to him. He never got cramps except for when he ate a turkey sandwitch before a race. So go back and go through everything you ate before you ran. If you ate right before that might have been it. NOting to do with what the food was but just having to much in you. Trying to digest and workout together don't mix. It's not a lack of endurance it's a food thing. Third choppy breaths sometimes give you side cramps. So breath deep when you run. Don't take short quick breaths. Even if it feels like thats the only way you can breath. Start with long deep breaths and it will help you a lot. YOu migh have to think about your breathing a lot at first but it will come to you after a while. HOpe I helped keep up the great work!!
