I have gotten really depressed about my size lately, but mainly about certain parts of my body (double chin, hips, etc) but I have been cutting down on my food majorly. I try not to snack any more. And when I do it is only a bananna or something like that. Are bananna's good choise when losing weight? I ask that because I eat like five in like two-three days since it is a low fat/calorie kind of thing.
Reply from ShiningStar, Age 14 - 02/13/08 - IP#: 68.236.17.xxx Don't cut out snacking entirely or skip meals or cut your food majorly back because this tends to leave you hungry, cranky, and moody and then you end up binging later. (Trust me on this...) The best thing to do is eat whole grain cereal or oatmeal, etc. for b-fast because whole grains/wheat and fiber keep you full. This is great paired with some low-fat milk or yogurt or a handful of fresh almonds. If you're in a rush, a Luna bar or Kashi TLC bar with a glass of milk is a good light start. Eat a moderate lunch like a soup, sandwhich, or wrap. Dinner should be balanced between proteins, good carbs, and veggies. Fruits are excellent snacks, and you can eat one between b-fast and lunch and lunch and dinner. Just try to avoid late night munchies. Hope I helped! (And btw, bananas have a high level of potassium, which is good!)

Reply from jillian, Age 15 - 02/12/08 - IP#: 24.121.44.xxx Yes, bananas are an excellent choice when trying to lose weight. I don't know how many calories they have, but I know they are very low in fat. Great choice.
