Ht. 5'7", Start: 221 lb, Today: 213 lb, Goal: 180 lb - I have been wanting to lose weight for a while, but I keep putting it off. Now I'm to the point where it's making me angry. I want it off more than anything and I know I can do it. My biggest problem is portioning. It's not that I eat too many times a day, it's how much of it I take and what I take. I'm eating too much of the wrong kinds of food. I try to eat breakfast, but usually don't have time in the mornings (don't want to miss the bus), I usually mooch off of others at lunch, then i come home from school at three and eat a big meal, then later on have dinner. I exercise for about 90-120 minutes a day and drink two bottles of water during it. I can feel myself gaining muscle, but the fat doesn't seem to go away. The biggest reason I want to lose the weight is so I can excel in sports. This summer I am planning on trying out for the school's tennis team, and hopefully next spring I will try out for the softball team. Wish me luck!

hey! i play tennis..its awesome! well it sounds like you're getting enough exercise, but it kind of depends on what the workout is. if its just walking or casually playing a sport, then switch it to running or jump rope to increase calorie burn. try to do a lot of cardio, not so much muscle building stuff. cardio is what makes you lose weight. as for your food... breakfast- buy a box of 90 calorie special k snack bars (i seriously love them)and throw one in your purse every morning. since you dont have time to eat before you leave just eat it in between classes or in the bathroom or something in school. lunch- pack your lunch the night before. that way you have time to make it and you force yourself to make healthy decisions. i would suggest a pb&j on wheat bread, bottle of water, piece of fruit. after school- STOP EATING MEALS. you cant do this, its way too many calories. just have some fruit or vegetables. my favorite after school snack is ritz crackers smeared with peanut butter and topped with an apple slice. dinner- put food on your plate ONCE and dont put any more food on. and drink water with your meal. i know it sounds like this all sucks, but hey weight loss is really difficult. good luck!
