I feel so fat!! I really need to and want to loose about 25-30 lbs. I'm 5'7'' and 155lbs. I need tips on healthy eatting and getting to the gym. I work wed.-Friday nites and i do splits on the weekends. and i go to high school 5 days a week. So i don't have a lot of time. pls give me some suggestions.
Reply from bob, Age 16 - 09/18/01 - IP#: 62.6.93.xxx healthy eating is easy, i mean knowing what to eat that is, sticking to it is the hard part, most people already know whats healthy or not, a good tip is to think back to when there were no shops, what did people eat then, if it came out of the ground then its probably good for you, try to eat healthy for most of the week and then treat yourself to the things you've missed say once a week, this is the best wat to diet as if you cut your calorie intake too much then your metabolism will slow down as your body tries to save the energy for important bodily functions, you have to trick the body into thinking that there is a ready suppy of calories by having an off day so to speak, the body will think is has enough calories and increase the metabolism to use up the extra energy, it then takes about 3 days for the metabolism to slow down again, use these days to be really strict with your diet and fat stores will be used up as a result, increase calories over the next couple of days to just below maintenece level and then repeat, it is important not to go too wild on the off day and also to be extra strict on the 2 days following or else the extra calories will be stored as fat, it also gives you something to look forward to knowing that you can have your favorite things at least some of the time, other tips that help are drinking lots of water, if you drink it ice cold then the body uses calories to heat it to body temp, also feelings of thirst are often mistaken for feelings of hunger, and hunger comes in cycles if you do fell hungry try drinking some water and waiting 15 mins you may find that the feelings pass, also when eating go slow, it takes about 10-15 mins for the body response to tell us we are full, if youve eaten your meal by then you may have eaten too much, so eat slow and you may be full before your finished, try eating grapefruit and drinking coffe in the morning, the combination can increase the metabolism for a while, as for exercise try walking, its the best exercise for weight loss as about 70% of the energy it uses comes from fat stores as opposed to about 40% when running, try adding short minute sprints to your walk, this constant change of heart rate burns even more fat, these tips and others have worked for me so i know it can be done , good luck,
