Hey! I have a quick question. I am overweight by about 30 pounds and have decided to go on a diet. My diet is that I eat nothing to 100 calories daily and exercise whenever I can. My friends are worried about me, and I don't know why. Is this a bad diet to do. I started it monday and i haven't ate anything in 2 days. I get really bad headaches during cheerleading, and it's hard not to eat so I always have to go away by myself when they all start eating. So is this diet ok?

Reply from Amal, Age 14 - 01/06/05 - IP#: 195.93.33.xxx Thats real bad!only eatin 100 calories a day??My friend went on a diet similar to the one you are on,and oh yeah she lost weight,but she developed some sort of eatin disorder.She is now gettin help from our schoolguidance teachers,and she eat(a bit)now.Shes got really fat though because her body had gone into starvation mode, and all the food she eats is just stored as fat.STOPP THIS DIET YOU'RE ON AND JUST EAT HEALTHILY.AMAL

I exercise 2-6 hours a day, but usually only an hour is hard cardio and the rest is easy like skiing or fast paced walking. I weigh 218, but the maximum average weight for my heigt is 163, and can go as low as 113. It's been hard losing the pounds, but definatly worth it. I am already becoming a little bit of a faster runner, by improving my mile time 30 seconds! I have been doing this through a hospital program as an outpatien. I see a nutritionist weekly, and she has been wonderful in telling different ways to eat new vegatbles and new ways to cook the old. Just wanted to share my sucess. ~Carlyne

By eating so little, you are putting your body in starvation mode, so it doesn't burn the calories you eat and it stores fat. you should eat a lot more- you will still loose weight, don't worry- and start eating!
