Hey all. I've been coming here every once in a while, but never posted, but I thought I would now. I started a diet routine today. I joined a gym and I'm eating healthy. My question is, how often and for how long should I go to the gym a week? I went today for about a half an hour(I know, probably not long enough) I lifted some weights and rode the bike thing(did 2.5 miles on that) Is that good? Anyone have any tips for me that I can use to improve and succeed on my diet? Thanks.

thats great!! to see results, you should probably go 4-5 times a week. 30 minutes is fine if you are doing a cardio workout, like the bike or a treadmill. but if you are just lifting weights, maybe an hour will do. I wish i was part of a gym, good luck!!!!!

If you are just starting out at the gym then 30 minutes is ok. But the more you go the more you should work your way to an hour. You should go to the gym as much as you can. It would be awesome if you could go 7 days a week. But you should at least be going 4 days a week. I workout almost everyday. The most that I have ever taken off from working out was a week, and I felt awful. I dont always do 7 days a week, but I try to. I take off a day now and then. Lately I have been working out twice a day cause we are on mid-winter break so we have a week off. It sounds like I would be in great shape, I am strong and toned, but I still need to work on my eating. The thing is I love working out, but I love to eat too! lol. Hope I helped!
