Reply from Miss K, Age 18 - 06/08/05 - IP#: 12.109.75.xxx 5 miles to start with? Wow. That's a lot of ground to cover. I'd say to slowly add up. Get to the point where you can run over 5 miles before your trip....so that when you return it won't be so much of a hall on your body to run 5 miles. But, yeah...continue running a mile and half, but each day...add half a mile. Or, if you're pressed for time, add a 3/4 a mile. It's easier said than done, I know...but, you can do it! Or, if your really upset and don't have enough time. Talk to the coach about it. He/She can probably help you out the most. I'm sure they'd understand if you couldn't run 5 miles on the first day of practice. Just ask them for their advice, and tell them about your problems. Hope I helped out. Good luck! :hugs: ~Miss K
