Ht. 5.6, Wt. 175 - Hey everyone! This is my first time posting here, and I just wanted to say that reading your posts has really encouraged me! I've been working hard for almost two weeks now, and although this second week has been harder than the first, my will power is strong!
I was wondering if anyone could give me an opinion on white bread; I eat wholemeal slices of bread (usually with homemade jam or Weight Watches low fat spread) but I also eat plain white bagels. I know wholemeal is much better, but are the bagels doing me a lot of harm? I eat about 2 per week.
I'm also not into exercise, but today I gave it a go. It was only 15 minutes on my Dad's stepping machine, but I'm going to build up slowly; maybe walk my dog (Robbie :D) later tonight, too. How long do you recommend a walk to last, for it to be of use to you?

You can sign up there for free for three days, and can keep an exercise and food diary online. It keeps track of your calories, tells you how many you have left for that day, etc. It has really helped me!

Cardio is exercize that gets your heart rate up (you breath hard, you start sweating) Examples include running, riding a bike, dancing, jumping rope...hope this helped

Thanks for the advice! What do you mean by cardio? How do you go about doing that? I've heard the word before (on the site as well) but I don't actually know what it is!

go to your room, crank up the tunes (whatever you like) and DANCE LIKE NO ONE'S WATCHING. if you really wanna be motivated to lose weight, do this in your underwear in front of a mirror. it'll make you wanna look better and you'll be burning cals at the same time! try to get like at least 30 minutes of cardio in every day to every other day, like 4 times per week at least.

Hey Nic, hmm white bread is not really good. Try sticking to Whole wheat stuff ...avoid ALL white foods, except for egg whites (which are really good for you) You should walk for atleast an hour or something, the average human should take atleast more than a 1,000 steps a day. Exercising is key! and walking your dog is brilliant:) Try dancing also, it's fun and healthy...I do it all the time:) even if you don't know how to just move around lol.
