Ht. 5'7, Wt. 375 - Hey Everyone, Ok, I need help with some exercise concerns. First, does anyone know what a stair stepper or stair master is? I have stairs in my house, is it the same as stepping back in forth up 1 or 2 stairs? If not, could I do that for exercise anyways or should i just run up and down all 18 of them. -And, that is actually all for now. Thnx!
Reply from melissa, Age 17 - 12/21/05 - IP#: 71.50.4.xxx i guess it really depends on how fast you intend on going down the stairs. if you're going to go down them the same rate you went up them... then that'd be okay. but if you tend to slow down going down the stairs to give yourself a break... that might be kind of a problem.

It is a workout going down the steps, too. Going up and down one steps seems it would be less of a cardio thing, and more of a muscle building thing. I know that I get way more out of breath doing all of them, then the one step. What if you did a bit of both, so you would get both benefits?

Reply from melissa, Age 17 - 12/20/05 - IP#: 71.50.4.xxx because going all of the way up the stairs your heart rate goes up... and then going down you get a break and your heart rate goes down. but going up and down on one - two steps.. your heart rate stays fairly constant therefore you'll burn fat more efficiently.
