Ht. 5'7, Wt. was:238 now:229 - hi everyone! well for the past week i've lost a total of 6 pounds...i'm on a so called 'crash diet' and i've been running 2 miles every other day, and then cardio and karate classes every monday wendnesday, and saturday. I'm currently training for my blackbelt and this is why i'm exercising so much. I usually dont go over 1,000 calories a day. but yesterday i had only 170 calories, i told my boyfriend and he said that was ridiculous and unhealthy..but i dont get it! i'm so happy i'm losing weight...but i dont want to eat more. and i keep thinking to myself...if i keep eating more, then it will take longer for me to shed pounds...i dunno i think i picking up really bad eating habits

Do you know you have a slight eating disorder?
If you stop eating food or limit your intake to 170cal you are seriously hurtting your body. Once you start eating regular again the weigh will come back on strong. You NEED to eat healthy and normal meals.

Yes you are taking up bad eating habits when you're dieting its very important to get all your meals in everyday. Its a fact that if you starve yourself or dont eat a lot then your actually lowering your metabolism and your body isnt burning fat which is not good. You always want to eat the recommended three meals a day because if you dont then you will be unhealthy and could end up gaining more WEIGHT ! so try to lose weight the healthy way . Good Luck

Crashdieting is bad for you because it slows your metabalism and then when you do eat it hangs on to everything. you actually will gain it all back and more.

You are picking up bad eating habbits. Your loosing weight now, but your body will soon become used to you only eating 1,000 calories and it will be hard for you to loose the weight. You need to eat atleast 1,300 calories, or your body will go into starvation mode. Thats great that you already lost some weight but try changing your eating habbits becuase if you can't then when your done with your diet, you will just gain the weight back on.
