From Melissa, Age 15 - 11/12/04 - IP#: 24.107.7.xxx Click here to reply I have been here before, maybe 9-10 months ago. I gave up on dieting but I really want to get on it again. I weigh 250 pounds and am 5'6 or so. I try to cut back on what I eat but, like other people have said, its the temptation, especially around friends. if anyone can give me any tips it would be greatly appreciated. **********I read an article in a magazine and found this saying someone used as inspiration to lose weight. "Life is hard by the yard...by the inch, its a cinch." Meaning that if it is going to work you have to take it inch by inch and i understand that.

Reply from Angie, Age 17 - 11/12/04 - IP#: 69.34.105.xxx I think it is great that you want to lose weight and watch your health. But, keep in mind that it is important not to get caught up with wanting to be too thin. It is sad that our society today is so obsessed with weight and looks. Lose the weight for yourself and to become healthier. I would suggest not to restrict things that you enjoy eating. Instead, allow yourself smaller portions or healthier versions of your favorite foods. Also, if you like veggies, munch on them for snacks, because they are very low in calories and not to add, very nutritious. They also keep you busy munching away. I wish you success and good luck!
