Ht. 5'5", Start: 220 lb, Today: 234 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 135 lb - I've been struggling with my weight for a while and have turned to food as support and coping from a very traumatic event as a kid. I've been to a weight loss camp and lost 40 pounds but now i'm 10 pounds heavier than I was going in. I guess I just want someone to hold me accountable. I know that I'm capable of the weight loss but my slight binge eating disorder is a big problem. I'd love to just have some people to relate to : )

Hello, my name is Alice, and I'm not a parent, but merely a 14 year old girl who is concerned about my weight. I'm approximately 5 foot 2 1/2 inches, and I weigh about 120 lbs. I wear a juniors size 11 in pants, and a medium in juniors shirts and dresses. I haven't checked my weight in a while, but am concerned that I may be gaining more weight. Am I overweight? If so, how much should I try to lose to become a healthy weight? Or, rather, what would a healthy weight at my height be?

So my starting weight was 150 pounds, after a month, I decided that I wanted to go back and be confident in my body. With exercise and healthy eating, today I stand at 130 ibs but now I'm finding that it's getting a lot harder to lose the extra weight and I'm slipping back into my old habits. My goal weight is 110 pounds and advice would be appreciatted greatly.

Being overweight is one of the worst feelings in the world. After years of struggling with my weight, I finally reached breaking point and decided that I was going to change. I was sick of feeling ugly, I was sick of having low self esteem, and I was sick of wanting to avoid mirrors, thinking that I best not look in them. Now, I am 25lbs lighter and at a healthy weight. I learnt how to stop binge eating and instead deal with my emotional issues in a healthier, more beneficial way. I didn't go to a doctor, I didn't see a nutritionist, I didn't become super athletic. No, I began bike riding - anywhere and everywhere for an hour per day (up to 7 miles) - and walking to and from school (4 miles of walking per day in total.) I changed my eating habits and opted for the healthier alternatives (e.g brown bread instead of white bread) and I replaced the chocolate and crisps/potato chips in my lunchbox for fruit and healthy snacks. At first, it started off like I would go back to eating unhealthy stuff but in moderation when I reached my goal weight, but now, eating healthily is part of my lifestyle and to be honest, I don't miss junk food much at all. I like eating healthily - I feel good about myself and the food is healthy for my body! My weight loss is almost complete, but I'm sticking with these new habits - exercise and healthy eating don't have to be the enemy! They are actually your best friends. Changing and allowing myself to change is the best thing that I've ever done. And there will be bad days - days you slip up, but make sure you allow yourself the OCCASIONAL treat, but not every single day. Eat smaller portions, exercise, make sure you're getting enough nutrition and that you're not just comfort eating because you're upset/bored, and learn to love yourself like I have. (view less)

Ht. 5'9", Start: 247 lb, Today: 216 lb (BMI %tile: 97), Goal: 175 lb - I thought the more weight I lost the happier I would be, however, when I was at my heaviest I didn't cry myself to sleep at night, which I do now. To tell you the truth I think I'm more unhappy than ever before because now I actually realise how heavy I was, and still am. I haven't lost any weight in a few months now and it's deflating. It's demoralising to know I can do it, because I have been doing it but now it's just gone to sh*t. My mantra always was 'I refuse to give up on myself' and yet that's exactly what I've done. Where did it all go wrong? And how do people keep going when they feel like giving up?

I just keep gaining I am on medication for my thyroid problems but I don't take it daily so it doesn't work..
