I know that isnt huge or anything, but my weight is effecting everything I feel and do! I have tried numerous times "fad dieting" and I will lose like 5 or 10 pounds and then I gain twice that back! I want nothing more but to be comfortable in my own skin. I know what I have to do. EAT RIGHT AND EXERSIZE. It makes me feel better, and look better. From krista, Age 12, female - 05/19/06 - IP#: 64.12.116.xxx ok so far i lost 56 lbs i went from 300 to 244 i went from a size 26 to a n 18 in womens i am very happy and it is not over i am continuing my exersise and diet my weight loss has slowed down to like 2 lbs a week but still at least i am loosing weight lol i exersise everyday my family joined the ymca on december 31st of last year and thats when i started i have been doing very well its is ok to splurge and when u do just burn it off my favorite machine at the ymca are the cybek arc trainer and the ellipitcal i also like to swim and play softball any exersise in ur day helps because its something that u wouldnt have benn doing before i got a tip cut ur normal food in half then put it away and eqat it tommowor that is wat i do also when i get a big craving i go for sunflower seeds with out the shell and no salt i love to have someone there for me if u know a friend that is around you ask ... For breakfast, lunch and supper I eat 1-2 servings of fruit/veggies, 1 lean protein source, 1-2 breads, and a glass of milk. For snacks, fruit is great but better if combined with some protein like yogurt b/c it keeps me full, and the fruit is good b/c it has carbohydrates which your brain needs and since it raises your blood sugar you won't feel hungry anymore. I also am very active. Not just doing exersize once a day, but being active all day long is very important. If you're watching tv, do jumping jacks or lift weights during commercials. If you're going somewhere, bike there instead of driving. If you are going to eat sweets, it's better to eat your meal first, then wait about 15 minutes, then have a small peice of something b/c you won't be hungry. From Elizabeth, Age 12, female - 05/11/06 - IP#: 70.230.144.xxx This isn't a weight loss story but I had this pair of hollister jeans that were too tight when I bought them. So, I hung them up in my closet and tried them on every couple of weeks. Each time I tried them on they would fit better but still didn't feel or look good enough. Today I tried them on and they fit perfectly! Even though my scale says I have only lost about 5 pounds I still have lost fat and have been getting lots of compliments. All I did was eat really healthy(like nutri-grain bars and skim milk) with very rare treats, which isn't that hard if you get rid of all the deserts in your house and only have desrts when you go out, not at school. I also tried to get cardio excercise 5-6 days a week. Be sure to look at food lables too. Just because it says it's low-fat doesn't mean it's not full of sugar. I weighed about 175 pounds and was 5'7". Now I weight 150 and am the same height. The way I lost it didn't necessarily start out good though. When I started eating too much I would feel sick. Then, about the next day even if I ate very little I still wouldn't feel very good. So for the next month I kept eating very little. I know it is a very unhealthy way to lose weight! When I didn't eat as much I would lose weight and feel happier. When I started not eating as much I did feel better, I don't eat healthy really though and still need to work on my daily diet. Whatever you do dont do the grainbars and apples and tofu "diet"unless you really like it becaue you have to be realistic and ask yourself...am i going to eat this way for the rest of my life? we like REAL FOOD!! anyways i have kept it off for a year now...i still exercise but only 3 times a week...and i have found that my stomach can only handle that one hamburger , not 2 ham and fries like it use to..i still weight once a week and if i gain 3 pounds then i immediatley up my excercise and cut back and then the next week i'm fine again and this is how i have maitained. hang in there the wieght will come off and with every pound you will have more and mope confidence and that will give you the desire to follow threw. One more thing i did was i would get one outfit(that didnt fit me) and hang it in my closet and when i was a size 20(yes i said 20 ladies) i would get a size 18 and every month i would try it on till it would fit me then a size 16...until eventually it was a size 7! just remember you can do this and you truley dont have to be miserable doing it...i'm living proof. i hope my story helped some of yall and if you have any questions just ask!
