I don't suggest goin on a "Diet" AT ALL because you are killing yourself emotionally and you miss out on all the "fun".I think exercising and watching wat u eat is the only way to go. I started Thanksgiving nite, and i've been riding our exersize bike for an hr everynite- i haven't weighted myself yet (kinda scared :) but i feel more in shape and better bout myself- And when u r tempted to eat something like pie or something fatening, just think of how much work it'll take to burn it- its not worth eating it! its all in ur head- stop look'n at it and just walk away! When I got to middle school i felt better beacause everyone there was well, bigger than me. I went cloths shopping and i decided to go for it. I started running in my garden and walking my dog down the street everyday. I was weighed and now i weigh 102. It is possible to do things that you may feel aren't possible.

So far I have lost 24.5 pounds. I started at 185, and now I'm at 160.5. I am slowly working my way down to 155, then hopefully to 135 sometime in the future. It is entirely possible and feels great after the weight comes off, so just keep on trying!!
From mandy, Age 18, female - 11/11/05 - IP#: 69.204.205.xxx hi, just thought id share my story as well.. since i was about 10 to 16 i weight 178 lbs! at a size 18 im 5'5" and i was over weight by 45lbs. i wasent comfortable with myself or who i was.. i rememeber haveing to tell many people who questioned me about wearing a zip up sweater everyday .. i just dident want them to see my belly or the way my arms had wings .. i finally said enough is enough, i had my father get me a year membership for a gym down the road almost a year ago within a 6 month period i had lost 45-50 lbs.. with a couple eating disorders in the time period but i stopped that and just started eating healthy such as fruits, LOTS OF WATER!, vegtables, whole wheat breads, and special K cereal ect. it helps because my father has diabetes and theres not really any bad foods in the house so i told him to stop bringing me home junk. im still currently going to the gym but not as... GO TO THE GYM PEOPLE you will be amazed as to how much weight you lose and muscle you gain.. my arm flab is GONE and i have gone from a size 16 to a size 3! and currently weight 118 .. however i do have flab on my stomache and above my belly button(which is very discourageing, b.c it seems to not want to leave.. im still pondering on how to lose that and i dont think i will :-/).. i have gotten many compliments and what could be better than compliments on your new and improved body? NOTHING! if i can do it anyone can do it! my motivation also comes from my mother she is a size 1 and has worked her way to a 6- pack.. and i wanna thank my brothers for always picking on my as a child as well as my parents with side comments haha. although im still not happy with my appereance due to my inner thighs, butt, and stomache i will keep working on that the healthy way!.. if anyone has any advice for me.. the feedback would be GREAT! thank you :).. and good luck to all you! never tell yourself you cant do something, its just another easy way out. get a buddy and motivate eachother. From Charlotte, Age 11, female - 11/07/05 - IP#: 71.112.36.xxx I has always been chuby until 3rd grade then I went up to 150 pounds in 3rd grade.When I went in fourth grade I was still that same weight.My mom let me do Weight Watchers with her because it was safe but I cheated so badly. That summer i went to a weight loss camp wher i lost 20 pounds and was at 156 when i first started and went down to 136. In 5th grade i gained it all back, I think it was because it was impossible not lose weight in weight loss camp because they choose what you eat and make you exercise( it doesn't prepare you for real life at all). I gained up till I was 169 pounds. Then I went in to this weight loss program called commited to kids and lost 35 pounds I'm am now at 133 pounds. Commited to kids prepared for real life. I write down what I eat and exercise( it might sound weird but exercise becomes fun) at least 5 times a week.I can even run an 8 minute mile! Commited to Kids is a miracle, I never thought I could have ever acomplished the things i've done!

Then, I gained all the way to 190 pounds when I was 11 years old. I wore size 20 (USA) to size 22. Once those clothes didn't fit, I started to loose a bit of weight at a time. I come from an overweight family and we eat a ton all of the time. With some food intake restraint and tons of running, I dropped to 170 pounds. In Gym class last year, we took body fat tests, and I came out at over 45% fat. Everyone laughed at me, and the teacher even said I was obese, so I dieted more. With another visit to the dietitian, he said that I would end up being rather like my Mom if I didn't loose weight. She was nearly 300 pounds then, so I wanted to loose more weight. My 200 pound friend and I started eating less together and running. We do tons of situps and judge out success by whether we can get all the way up or if our bellies stop us. Now, I'm down to 163 pounds!

YES I lost the first several pounds which was pretty hard, because the only way I was going to lose it was to change my diet, no junk food, eating half, more fruits and veggies, etc. it worked out great! I'm kind of short so I still need/want to lose 5-10 more pounds, and then I'll be happy. wish me well!
