Back in november i weighed in at 255 pounds at 5'7. although i do have muscle(arms and legs especially) i wanted to lose weight so i may join the army. After do extensive research. I lost 60 pounds in 2 months. How? Well, first i took my dieting habits in to account. Fast food three times a day, and nothing but soda & juice. I simply cut those out completely and ate those green foods most people avoid. Switched to only water intake to keep my self hydrated. At times when i felt like my body wanted more food i drank an 8oz cup of water quick to fill my stomach. My calorie intake went from 5000-6000 to 8-1400 and burned over 1600 calories just by excersizing and low impact cardio to help burn more fat calories from my body then glycogen. The eating habits became more but all low calorie and my fat intake exceeded no more then 30%... (view more)Well people, i hear alot of people and great succes stories. The eating habits became more but all low calorie and my fat intake exceeded no more then 30% of daily value. Flabby fat and loose skin? Not if you ad in alot of calistenics and determination of will. I went pants size 42 to 38 in less then a month. Waist(abdominal region, i dont wear my pants that high)from 46 to 39. I went from 255 to 195 exactely. My energy levels sored to the point where i didnt want to live my old seditary depressing life style. Started working out to build muscle and pretty much kept it off with ease. How do i know i wont gain it back? I helped some people move to texas was stranded became depressed sat and layed around did no excersize and ate more then my fair share of fat. My dwindling muscle helped keep the fat off during those two months and i actually lost 7 pounds by walking one week before i left home. I got home and now part of the army i ship 04/21/05. Its about your habits and cutting them out mixed with hardwork and determination. I dont lie. research the web as i did. To prepare myself for basic training i am now back in ass kicken mode. From Ashley, Age 14, female - 03/28/05 - IP#: 63.135.142.xxx I found that if I just stay away from the chocolate and keep moving I lose weight. And it also helps it your parents help. Like my mom helped by keeping candy and sugars out of the house. And I really cut back on the soda too. Just next time when you go to the grocery store ask your parents if they can stop buying certain foods for you. It helps out alot when you have others around you that are willing to help you.

From Megan, Age 14, female - 03/22/05 - IP#: 67.171.220.xxx I started at 180 lbs. I was never happy with how I looked, but was never motivated to do anything about it. Then one day while I was watching TV I decided to run while I watched on the tredmill. I did that everyday, and eventually running 2-3 miles a day. I stopped eating red meat, and if I had to eat bread, I'd make it whole weat. I'd participate more in PE too. My goal is to get to about 130-135..and after doing all the things above for about a little over a month I am to 165lbs (15lbs lost). I still have about 30 lbs to lose, which I would love to lose in 3 months..and after reading all your guys's stories I have gained even more motivation and am shooting to lose 10 lbs per month to get around what I want. Thanks you guys..I'll post again when I get to my goal. Good luck to all.

From , 0female - 03/19/05 - IP#: 66.211.233.xxx About two months ago I started to try to have a healthier lifestyle and lose some weight. I gradually added more exercise to my day as I took away extra food and treats, and I'm getting great results. I've lost 15 lbs. so far and hope to lose 15 more. Anyway, I started out as a 132 lbs. 5'3" chubby girl, and now I'm 117 lbs. It feels great!!!Remember that you CAN DO IT! Once you get into the swing of exercising, you feel so much happier and healthier. I look forward to Saturdays when I weigh myself. It's fun to see the weight drop off (I lose about two pounds every week now). Another cool thing to do is keep a chart of how much you've lost. It really makes you feel like you've acomplished something! If you're about to start dieting, I recommend figuring out the amount of calories you burn each day by going to http://primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/jumpsite/calculat.htm. Know that... Anyway, good luck to you all. It's not all smooth sailing, but it's worth it in the end!PS. I've had treats plenty of times. It's okay. Just get back to your normal schedule, and it won't matter! From Beth, Age 16, female - 03/17/05 - IP#: 68.192.155.xxx I started a new diet about two weeks ago. I've already lost about 15 pounds. The weight should start coming off slower now that my body is adjusting to my new routine. I'm about 220 lbs currently and hoping to be down 190 by the end of June. I've been running every day, about 4 miles a day. It's the best adrenaline rush for me - it feels so amazing when it's over. It sucks at first, but once I got used to it, I loved it. I'm on a high-carb diet. I gave up red meat, stopped drinking soda, and I'm staying away from saturated fats. I'm eating tons of vegetables and fruits and drinking about 3 liters of water a day. The high-carb diet it right for me because I'm leading a much more strenuous lifestyle now and can use the carbohydrates for energy when I run, so it's not right for everyone. I can't wait to lose more. Good luck to everyone.

From Camille, Age 17, female - 03/02/05 - IP#: 70.80.118.xxx I have been on a diet since January 10th, 2005. I am 5'8, and when I started I was 175 pounds. Now, almost two months later, I am at 153 pounds! My goal weight is 145, but I am already really happy to be back in my healthy weight range. This is how I did it. First, I talked to my mom about how I wanted to lose weight. Together, we took all the junk food out of the house and filled it with healthy and tasty food. She is my weight loss buddy, and it helps so much to have someone dieting with you and supporting you. I eliminated juices and high calorie drinks from my diet and started drinking lots of water. I fought cravings and only had one small snack in the afternoon. I ate a good sized meal at supper but NEVER ate anything between supper and bedtime. These are all good eating habits that helped me and will certainly help you! Good luck to all!
