From Amber Louise, Age 19, female - 12/21/04 - IP#: 62.254.64.xxx I was 168 pounds and now 5 months later I am at 120. At first I did not think I could do it because I have always seen myself as big boned and exercise and diet would do nothing for me but in my health and social class i learnt that big boned was a myth. So I started to think what I could change and started exercising 1 hour of walking everyday and walking my dog around the block twice a day also doing situps and crunches each night before bed. I ate healthy foods mainly jacket potatos with low fat fillings and pasta, fish and chicken. I made my dinner meal my main meal and just had snacks for breakfast and lunch.I am still going because I would like to lose maybe 10lbs but to maintain how I am right now while adding chocolate to my diet for a weekly treat I just do 10 mins of step on my stairs and 20 crunches each night and it really works. All you have to do is diet and exercise!
From Eric, Age 20, male - 12/20/04 - IP#: 204.85.69.xxx My hole life i have always been athletic. I played basketball for my middle school, aau basketball and played varsity baseball as well as baseball my hole life. i wasnt the skinniest athlete though. I felt comfortable when playing sports because of the social aspect. But throughout school i sheltered myself from meeting friends, and just having a typical life of a teenager. I was teased, called names plus i had an older brother who was oppositte of me but yet he teased me too. So one day in July 2003 i decided i was just going to stop thinking about what others think and do something that made myself feel better instead of depressed all the time. At this time i was about 220lbs. So i started eating alot less in portion size and eating healthy. After about a month i lost 15 lbs and realized it was working which gave me motivation. At this time i was about 220lbs. So i started eating alot less in portion size and eating healthy. After about a month i lost 15 lbs and realized it was working which gave me motivation. So i wanted more to come off. So i went to a bookstore, and this book cought my eye. Its called body for life. I was like man, eating right is important but so is exercise. But like most fat people i was shy to hit the gym because i thought everyone was looking at me. Its intimidating going to a gym where everyones attractive and in good shape. But i decided to try it out. I stuck with the workout plan and boy after about 4 weeks i noticed a big difference in muscle tone and my face was alot skinnier. The great thing is people around you start to notice and it makes you want to try harder. So i kept going, even after the 12 week plan and just added another 12 weeks and decided this is my new way of life. So now about a year and a half later on Dec. 20th i went from 220 to 162lbs. I have never felt so great in my life. I sleep better, feel better, and more importantly i like myself better because i proved myself wrong and others wrong. Losing weight is tough, you just have to find that motivation to keep going. Set attainable goals, and look at the long term not short term. Your size changes gradually not overnight. If you have to put a fat picture of yourself in the mirror, in the fridge, on your bedroom door to remind yourself to quit being down on yourself or whatever reason then do it. Dont care about what others think, they obviously dont care about what you think. Good luck (view less)

From Brit, Age 16, female - 12/02/04 - IP#: 209.86.108.xxx Hi. I used to weigh 185 at 5'7' my freshman year :( and many people criticized me for it. This pushed me to start dieting and excersizing. I was overweight so I started cutting down on meals, eating healthy, and doing aerobics/kickboxing/cardio. Excersizing sort of stinks when you get started but the more you do it the better you get at it and when you finish a workout you feel great! I'm now a junior in high school and my weight loss was long term and it took about a year. I'm now 5'8 and weigh 125, I lost 60 pounds! It was a big difference that you could notice in all my photos from school and vacation pictures etc. When I put them side by side I couldn't believe it! Trust me it's so worthed to diet/excercize it may seem tough at first and maybe your doing it for someone else so that they can't make fun of you anymore or for someone to like you but don't do it for anyone else but yourself! I realized this now after I started loosing weight becasue ultimately you are the one that needs to be happy with yourself in the end! Good luck and you can do it!

I went twice a well and exercized on my own another two times a week and dropped 22 ILBs. I am know 168 and hope to lose 20 more. The Fact is you will lose weight if you eat less and work out more. Also absolutely know fast food.

I always felt ashamed around boys, and i can remember them making fun of me in the malls i went too. I didn't have many friends, but i finally made one at 12 and we were friends until i was 15. My friend was overweight too, but at 15 i weighed 210 pounds. The weird thing ? i knew i was fat, but i never imgined being over 150 pounds. I did it with the "Walk away the pounds" video tape (3-mile walk,45 mins). And i found a real eating plan: "Michael Thurmound 6-week body makeover". I went from 175 pounds (oct,9,2004), down to 156 (Oct,28,2004). I haven't weighed myself since last week...so i may be even smaller. But i like having a eating plan, cus its so hard to make one up (especially when you're nutrition clueless like i was). My goal weight is 130 pounds, and i can do it !. It get frustrating...but I've come so far. If you guys need any help or a diet buddy e-mail me: cutediva5@yahoo.com (view less)
