Ht. 5'9", Start: 203 lb, Today: 218 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 175 lb - Hi Everyone, I'm new here, but I've been trying to lose weight for years. It's never really bothered me, but those around me have commented on it a lot. I started trying to lose weight going daily to the gym and eating healthier foods, but I keep getting fatter because even though I'm eating those healthier foods i still sneak the cookies and other junk but I know I'm not fooling anyone. Sometimes I think whatever, I'll just get fat I dont care, I can still find a boyfriend who will like me even though I'm fat. I dont know should I just give up I dont know what else to do.

Ht. 5'10", Start: 413 lb, Today: 410 lb (BMI: 59), Goal: 250 lb - First of all I wanna thank Luna for her advice. I want to ask all of you if anyone has tried Weight Watchers or Overeaters Anonymous. Did they help you? I went to the doctor two weeks ago and he told me that my blood pressure and cholesterol are normal and that if I don't lose weight now I have the potential to end up weighing 600 or 700 pounds. I asked him fo help with a diet and all he did was tell me "cut back on what you eat." That's no help, I know that already. The problem is I always have had ahuge appetite and when I was in school I used to make money by getting into eating contests, like "Man vs Food" on TV. Most of my friends were chubby and so we'd bet who could eat the most ice cream, or Whoppers, or whatever. I always won and was quite a celebrity. I still am with my buddies. I've managed to lose 3 pounds so far but it's torture. ... (view more)First of all I wanna thank Luna for her advice. Sometimes I'm good all day with not eating much and then I go to work in the evening and I get so hungry I feel like I'm gonna faint or something, so I take a break and eat an Entenmann's coffee cake and a quart of milk in 15 minutes, and I lose my motivation. (This was last night, on the way after work I bought a large stuffed crust meat lovers pizza with extra breadsticks and ate them all when got home plus some ice cream. I just can't help it. Ht. 5'10", Start: 413 lb, Today: 413 lb (BMI: 59), Goal: 250 lb - Hey everybody. My name is Richie and I'm seriously overweight and ready to drop some serious pounds. When I graduated from high school in 2008 I was the same height I am now and only 297, so I've put on 116 pounds in 3 years. I was always a fat kid, weighing 200 lbs in 7th grade and played football in high school, and ate big to play center. When football season ended I was 265. I go to college and work 40 hours a week as assistant manager at a restaurant. Everyone in my family is overweight and so is my girlfriend. Last week at work I squatted down to pick up something that dropped and my pants split all the way up the back (size 60). That incident made me take a step back n take a look at how fat I've gotten. I'm aslig for some advice from you all about how to start a diet. I've been trying to cut back on my intake since last week... (view more)Hey everybody. It is terrifying and I decided I didnt want to look at the scale yet. I just want to do my best with eating and exercising and then I will weigh in a couple of weeks. I also have a lot of other decisions to follow through with. I am trying to quit drinking and smoking as well. i just want to feel better about life. I have actually been on this site since I was 14 and I know how much support there is here. Thank you in advance and I am so glad they made an 18+ board.

Ht. 5'10", Start: 398.1 lb, Today: 327.3 lb (BMI: 47), Goal: 250 lb - In this study I've learned allot about who I am what I can accomplish and the dedication it takes to make a change as significant as losing weight. Yes there have been times when it would've been nice and easy to give up and call it quits and in those moments I've been able to push through the struggle and reap the rewards of accomplishing and overcoming the doubts in my own mind. There is always a need for motivation and positivity, you can never have to much motivation. If you ever find yourself in need of motivation realize this, you have come so far from when you first started. Even if you haven't loss much weight, think about how you felt before and how you feel now physically. Even if the signs of weight loss are not just physical or numerical it's also internal.
