Hello, I am very disappointed in my daughters, 10 and 12. My 10 year old is 4'11 and 385 and my 12 year old is 5'5 and 350. They are not very active at all. They just sit and home and eat food. They need me to write notes for them to skip gym class. I always get dirty looks when I pick them up from school. They've told me they wanted to do nothing but eat. They've been sneaking snacks into their rooms. My 10 year old can't see her feet or even fit in the tub. Please reply I need to know what I should start doing.

My 13 year old daughter has been gaining a lot of weight this school year. She came into 7th grade at 5 foot 3 and 225 pounds and now she has gained an extreme amount more. Myself and my younger daughter (4'11 110) have been watching her. We weigh her every night and last night she was 325. We've gotten calls from the school about her size. She's been eating meals constantly. She makes her own meals (which might not be the best thing.) She eats about 5 eggo waffles a morning with her sister. She packs two lunches filled with fatty snacks around the house. She's having trouble walking and I've noticed on weekends she usually just sits on her bed the whole day on her phone and eating her sweets. I've discovered a stash of zebra cakes, honey buns and brownies under pillow. She's been taking the food in the cabinets and keeping them for herself. I feel like if she keeps eating more she won't... (view more)

I do t know what to do. My 9 year old daughter is obese. Her father and I broke up 3 years ago and she has been gaining weight ever since. Her dad says nasty things about me and gives her all the sugary and fattening treats she wants which makes me seem evil as I wasn't allowing as much. Now, I have started giving her more to eat as I know she will just sneak it otherwise. She is really fat and has recently developed a prominent waddle. I feel embarrassed when people stare at her. Her clothes are too small but I cannot afford to keep buying her new ones as she grows out of the at such a quick pace. Can anyone help me?

My daughter has always been overweight, and I've never had the heart to sit her down at tell her that she's fat. I really should have. Within the past year, Ellen has gained a little over 115 pounds...going from 342 to 466. I didn't really notice it until she came down for school one day and her clothes didn't fit. Her favorite shirt was so tight it clung to every roll on her body and showed the bottom of her big belly, and her jeans wouldn't even button, so she zip tied them shut. Not only did her clothes not fit, she began to have trouble walking. The other day we were at a mini golf place and Ellen sat down and took about 10 minutes to catch her breath. I think I'm going to take her to the weight clinic soon, I'm worried about her. She gains weight everyday. I've started weighing her and tracking the amount of food she eats. I've even resorted to measuring her growing, fat body. It's scary how gigantic Ellen is. Please if you have any advice tell me!

My daughter recently has been putting on weight at an alarming rate. I do worry about little phoebe. I always catch her in the kitchen in between meals. I think it is time for a change in diet for this whole family and cut down on buying unhealthy foods.

My son is 12 years old. He plays on the schools basketball team, soccer team, and started going to the gym a couple times a week for cardio. However, he weighs 180. He is almost 6 feet tall and already wears a size 11 shoe. The doctor has never even mentioned his weight. Even though he is active I am starting to get very concerned. Any suggestions?

My daughter is 11 and weighs 122 pounds she wants to lose weight, but it is not working, she always snacks at night. I think her legs are fine, she doesn't, but I have noticed that her stomach got a little big lately. How can she lose at least 30 pounds. (That is how much she wants to lose)

I have four boys, but only my youngest son has a weight problem. He is currently 4'11 and 197lbs, so not just chubby, but sadly very obese :( . He has always been this way, short and overweight, whereas his older brothers are all much taller, very into their sports and healthy weights. It breaks my heart seeing the difference between them, but other than my 18 year old son, they're not very supportive towards him or helpful in getting him to lose weight.
Anyway, Inbetween the constant battle to get him slim down, I have a question that no doctor has yet been able to answer. David (my overweight son) eats too much, but so do all his brothers too, and all the food in my house is healthy (except for a locked cupboard of goodies). He doesn't get a lot of his own money so he isn't tempted into buying junk (he agreed to this as well and gets me to save his allowance now). Anyway, even... (view more)

My son Theodore is overweight/obese he is currently 4"11 133. Someone of his friends who is the valedictorian at a very good prep school (did this skipping a grade) saw that our son was overweight and was pick on by other friends. He also told me that he saw that he wasn't breathing normally. So a few weeks after that my wife and I are out of town and Theo had a checkup at the doctor so we have our friends son bring him and the doctors told him and his family that he has many obesity like diseases linked to the test they did. I encourage him to go outside but the never does he just sits inside all day watching T.V and when that friend comes over a very good soccer player (2 year up on #2 team in country) ,lacrosse and basketball player is kind of getting upset that he never goes outside. I need help to fix these problem such as losing friends and the health problem!!!

I believe our daughter's eating disorder is too much for me to deal with. My daughter is having her menstral period and she is craving sweets to the tenth-degree. She rode my bike to meet a friend and came back with a half a bag of marshmallows. I saw them and threw them in the trash. She said that I owe her $2.oo, hollering that we are ruining her life!...and started shaking the trash bag to retrieve the individual pieces of marshmallows from the trash. I am at a lost for what to do anymore. Please advise.

Hi. I'm not a parent but I am a child who is overweight. I was a little skinny until I was around 8 or 9 and I gained a bit of weight and I don't know what happened. I am now trying to lose about 20-30 pounds because I am 4 feet and 10 inches (147.5 cm) and I last weighed 128 pounds and I was weighed last month. I haven't lost any weight that I can see but I also haven't done much about it. I am looking for some diets to try that aren't very extreme and or some exercises I can do. What are somethings that worked for your children? Weight is something I feel is a scary topic and I want to feel good about myself again. I want my life back and I think my health should be coming first. Thanks for listening and thank you for helping.
