My daughter is 16 (almost 17) and is about 5 feet 5 inches and weighs about 150 pounds. I only weigh 122 pounds, her grandfather only weigh 141 pounds and her grandmother weighs about 119 pounds. She is the fattest person in our family! She tries to squueze into clothes that are too small for her to convince herself or maybe others that she is a smaller size. She wear bikinis even though she has excess fat! I tries to bring her to the gym with me, and she doesn't want to go, so i call her CHUBETTE. I need her to loose weight. I hate looking at her fat, chubby, blubbery, flabby, overweight body. How can I get her to lose weight?

hi everyone. my daughter blake is 5'5 and 220 lbs. i took her to the doctor the other day because she was getting out of breath and her heart started racing sometimes. The doctor told us that it is because almost all of her fat is carried in her belly. He said that the size of her belly is the same as a morbid obese person. There is fat in all her organs and that is why her heart races. How can i help her??

Hi everyone it has been awhile since i have been on here. As yall probably remember my daughter was very large and obese at 432lbs just four months ago. I took her to the doctor today and found out she has gained almost 40 more pounds in a matter of months. she is very close to reaching 500lbs and i am very scared about that. She doesn't seem to care about the weight she gains she just keeps eating and sneaking food. I am not sure what to do at this point. Please if anyone has any good solutions that will help her in any way please tell me as soon as possible i need help fast. Thank you to all, bye.

Izzy is 4 foot 3 inches and weighs 102 pounds. Her doctor infromed us the other day that she is at risk of becoming overweight. I had not noticed this but last night I went into her room and saw her asleep with her tummy slightly hanging over her trousers. How can I make sure she dosen't get to big, before its not to late?

My daughter Kaylee weighs 290 pounds. She seems to be putting on atleast 1 pound every week or so. It was very embarassing 4 days ago when a old lady walked up to her in target, put her hand on her belly, and asked her when her baby was due. Kaylee just said in a few months. She wouldn't disagree with her at all. I didn't talk to her about it because it was very embarassing for her. I really hope she isn't pregnant. Her belly is large, round, and firm, but I think she would have told me about it if she was. The principal from school called me and asked if we were going to take her out of school b/c rumors had been circling that she was pregnant. Her clothes are just so tight around her firm belly. On Tuesday, we went shopping and everything was to small, except for one shirt that barley went around her big bulging weight. her weight is also farther from the top of her torso. It only began collecting about 2 months ago. I dont know what to do, we have tried diets, etc. but they dont work. I need advice.

A few days ago I posted about my son who's very overweight and having a hard time coping with the amount of weight he's carrying. I already asked the doctor about changing his medication, but he said it's not really an option. The only advice he had on the weight gain is to limit his food and get him exercising. After I posted I called the doctor and asked why being overweight was so hard on my son. I asked him because other overweight kids don't seem to have as much difficulty with simply carrying their own weight. Mostly their problems are about teasing. He had some good advice that I think all parents should hear. The doctor asked about my son's activity level and I told him he's a couch potato. I asked him because other overweight kids don't seem to have as much difficulty with simply carrying their own weight. Mostly their problems are about teasing. He had some good advice that I think all parents should hear. The doctor asked about my son's activity level and I told him he's a couch potato. He walks to and from his classroom at school and in the summer he doesn't even do that. The advice was that overweight kids need to keep exercising even if it doesn't make them lose very much weight. If they keep moving they'll be more comfortable in their bodies even if they stay overweight. But if they get discouraged and become couch potatoes it can be really hard for them to get back in shape because even walking can be exhausting. The doctor explained that the body can adapt to a lot of extra weight when the person is getting exercise every day. But when the person doesn't move around, the body never has a chance to get used to the weight. The example he used are football players who can be overweight but because they practice a lot their body gets used to the weight. But a sedentary person like my son can have a lot more difficulty. The doctor said my son's body was probably still adjusted to being about 100 pounds, even though he now weighs 170. He said it's like taking a 100 pound kid and putting a 70 pound backpack on him. Now I understand why he struggles so much with any type of exercise. Since my son's weight is such a sore subject I hadn't brought it up a lot, but I decided it was time to have a serious talk with him. He gets upset when I mention his weight because he doesn't want to go on a diet and give up his favorite foods. I showed him a 30 pound bag of dog food in the garage and told him to lift it. He could hardly lift it at all. Then I told him that was how much weight he gained since school let out for the summer. He was shocked and said that's why it's so hard to run and climb stairs now. I warned him he could gain that much more during the school year if we didn't do something about it. That really upset him. He got afraid of what it would feel like to be 30 pounds heavier and begged me not to let that happen to him because he couldn't stand being that heavy. I wish he hadn't gotten so upset but for the first time he's willing to try eating healthier. We'll have to see if he can use this as a lesson to help him overcome his sweet tooth. Sorry for writing so much. (view less)

My son is 10 1/2 years old and almost 100 pounds overweight. He was always a bit chubby but when his medication changed last year he really started putting on weight. He handled it well at first because he knows he needs the medication, but now he's really miserable. Over the summer he gained 30 pounds, and those last 30 pounds have been the worst of all. It's like his body reached the limit of how much weight it could tolerate. I noticed he was slowing down somewhat as he put on weight but I didn't worry too much about it until now. After this recent weight gain, he's always exhausted and uncomfortable. The slightest physical activity gets him out of breath and red in the face. Even bending over to tie his shoelaces is really hard for him now, and when he sits down he usually leans back to help his pants not feel so tight. I hate even asking him to go get the mail because he looks so... (view more)My son is 10 1/2 years old and almost 100 pounds overweight. I hate even asking him to go get the mail because he looks so uncomfortable hauling around that huge load of excess weight. I know I should have done something sooner but I never knew it could get this bad. We dealt with the teasing and I thought that was the only real problem. I still have a hard time saying no when he asks for snacks because it's the only happiness he seems to have in life, even though I know it's making him more miserable. Does anyone have experience with helping a kid who's this overweight, or know of any exercises he could do to help lose some weight? He needs to start slow because right now just going upstairs to his room is a real burden. (view less)

Hello everyone.I used to come to this board on a daily basis in hopes for new information on help my son lose weight.I see alot of insults.Where is the support to help each other? I know my son is obese and so am I. Its not all his fault I BUY THE FOOD,I TAKE HIM OUT HE'S 9!.I use to post here but lately its seems that some people are posting as a joke? Why? Isn't there enough cruelty going on.I know someone is going to post something insulting to what I have said but I don't care. Its hard to help a child who is obese, especially when the parent is obese or not living with them to support them daily.I greatly appreciate any advice on shopping, recipes to sneak veggies in or even exercise tricks. For instance I took my son to the mall and played a treasure hunt game.By the time he found all the clues he had walked 2 miles but he didn't know it.I look for things like that here.Help in anyway shape or form.I just want to thank those here who offer help and support.
