From alex, Age 16, female - 07/08/04 - IP#: 24.243.206.xxx I'm 5'2" and 7 months ago I weighed roughly 140. I never liked the way I looked so I decided to go on a diet. I cut calories dramatically by eating smaller portions and only drinking water (lots), tea, or coffee. Today I have surpassed my goal weight of 120 and am now a healthy 110. Dieting is hard at first, but you get used to it. Honestly, it's one of the easiest things I've ever done. What people need to realize is that losing weight takes time and dedication. Don't expect to drop 10 pounds in a week, but expect to drop more like a pound or two. STICK WITH IT and the hard work will pay off.

I learned that if I just stay away from the junk food completely, it won't put me on the track to the non stop junk eating road, and that I can sit thruogh the activity craving the food (id rather have the craving feelings then the feeling of guilt) My two main points here are if once you start eating junk food you eat alot more then just that "one slice"...stay away from it completely! Its better to do all your activies with that craving for a peice of cake in your head then the feeling of guilt and the extra calories and fat your body in turn needs to burn off. Thanks...I hope this helped! (view less)
From Alicia, Age 15, female - 07/02/04 - IP#: 67.5.144.xxx I havent weighed myslelf in a while. I decded that I would rather see the results after a few weeks rather than every other day. SO basically I have been going on an hou walk/jog everyday along with a 25 minute abdominal video along with a 45 minute upper and lower body weight video. (both are from the firm) I decided to go without red meat and no freid foods for a while. I am excited to see what the scale says in the next few weeks! By the way I went from a size 13 to a size 9 :).
From Jen, Age 13, female - 07/01/04 - IP#: 68.33.73.xxx Hey, first off i wanna say im really happy this page went up because it inspired me even more and gave me lots of tips! Well i started a diet about a week and a half ago and i have lost 4 pounds so far. All i did was eat the SPECIAL K bars for breakfast and have some YOPLAIT YOGURT. Then i got my mom to grill pineapples and zuccini with whatever else she made. I started to go on a 1500 calorie diet and it really works! I exercise 1 hour a day by riding a bike and doing sit-ups. I use to weigh 195 lbs but i am now 191 lbs and still going! I am 5' 6" and i want to get to my goal of 140 by the end of the year in time for social. I hope everyone else does get to their goal while dieting and if i can do this much already, u can too! Good Luck!!!

From Jenni, Age 15, female - 06/30/04 - IP#: 65.17.148.xxx My family had a weight loss contest that lasted from February 18 to May 21, and the prize was $300 for the winning woman, and winning man. My Mom and I ended up in a tie, we both lost 20 pounds! She went from 180 to 160, and I went from 169 to 149.

From MissyK, Age 18, - 06/29/04 - IP#: 24.84.212.xxx I have some time before I go to work, so I decided I'd tell you about my past habits before I met some helpful people along the way. I used to eat a small, unhealthy breakfast consisting of white bread and sweets. Then, I 'd pig out for lunch and have 2 or more pieces of cake for dessert. Then, half an hour before dinner, I'd eat 7 or 8 cookies hoping I'd spoil my appetite so I don't have to eat so much. Well, in reality, the cookies are higher in calorie than dinner itself. It didn't work, of course, and I ate a huge dinner and didn't stop until my stomach hurt. I felt like crap afterward, so I thought, "well since I screwed up today, I might as well eat more". So before bedtime EVERY NIGHT, I'd eat several donuts or half a box of Pot of Gold chocolates or a peanut butter sandwich. I couldn't sleep at night because my heart was beating so fast and my stomach hurt so much.... I treat myself occasionally, but I don't eat until it hurts. I sleep better now and I feel more in control of myself. Dieting is really a change in lifestyle more than anything.
