my son recently got a job with my mother in law at a kithen of a retreat center. He got the job a few months ago and since then he has gained 25 pounds. his stomach is most definetely larger now, he has gone up two waist sizes, and when we went to the beach last week i noticed fat rolls on him, he has never been like this before. i believe the cause for this is that he is constantly around food all the time at the kithen and since his grandmother works their, she allow him to eat some of the leftovers. at first i wanted him to quit, but then i realized the job was important to him. what should i do before he gains even more weight? by the way, he's 5'6 and weighs 173, he used to weigh 155 or so.

My son is getting really stressed at going to school, having headaches and stomach aches, He doesn't want to go back to school, he wants to go to another school, my biggest fear is, they may not let him into a new school not to mention the teasing just may continue, what should I do??

my daughter is at weight loss camp and this is her 3rd week.i was reluctant to send her but she was very keen i thought it was very expensive £2000 for 5 weeks and unlike other countrys in england no kids go away to camp so it wasnt the norm, well i can honestly say its the best £2000 i have ever spent she phoned today and she is having a fab time and her words to me were i love you mum but im not missing home theres to much to do and its just like home, she has already lost weight and is enjoying all the food and excersize. it seems a shame to me that more overweight children cannot be funded for these camps as a lot of people could not afford this kind of money as it will definatly be my daughters last time i could no way afford it next year .

my daughter is very overweight she is 5'3ish and last time I checked she was 250 lbs. But that was over a year ago and she has gone through many clothes sizes since then. when we went to the beach a few days ago something terrible happend her tiny bathing suit ripped of showing everything. She has been eating non stop since then because of embarassment. Does anyone have a family member who is like this

I recomend to you to force your child into a very active activity wether it's sports classes try something competitive studies show that group competitions improve self-esteem it worked for my child she had no self esteem then i gave her a choice but made her chose something and she chose dancing she now lost 50lbs and has great self esteem and is healthy a horse well good luck :)

I THINK PARENTS AND OTHERS NEED TO STOP STRESSING OUT SO MUCH ON THEIR KIDS WEIGHT. LOVE THEM FOR WHO THEY ARE..SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE IS SO WORRIED ABOUT CHILDHOOD OVERWEIGHTNESS. ARE WE JUST MAKING THE MATTERS WORSE BY ADDING ATTENTION TO OUR KIDS?! HOW ABOUT THE PARENTS OF OVERWEIGHT KIDS, MAYBE SPENDING MORE TIME WITH THE CHILDREN TO GET THEM ACTIVE. MANY (PARENTS) SEEM JUST TO BUSY NOW DAYS..WHAT A SHAME!

My five year old son, just had his school physical yesterday. He is 89 pounds and 4 foot 2..Of course he is a big boy, and off their charts. I'm just wondering if anyone has a child in the same situation. THEY SHOULD MONITOR THE CHILD GROWTH BASED ON THE CHILDS HEIGHT VS WEIGHT. THANKS

my son is 11 years old and he weighs about 140lbs. He has to meet weight for football.we have been doing the atkins diet for about a month. I am so proud of him. He has lost about 10-15 lbs. But we still have about 5 more to go by this Saturday (weigh-ins).Does anyone have any suggestions? Also does anyone have any dinner ideas for the atkins diet that doesn;t consist of hard to find ingredients? Thank you so much!!

How do I keep my daughter motivated to stick with an exercise plan. We started in June, and she lost 10 lbs.! WAY TO GO. Then she went to camp, and now it seems it doesn't matter. She made good food choices and only gained back 3 lbs., but I can't motivate her to do any exercise. Our dr. advised 30 min. of strenuous activity per day and that is what really helped her. Responses PLEASE!!!!! Thank you

My daughter is 5'5 and almost 300 lbs and i'm very worried that if she don't lose weight soon that she will die. I want to tell her this but i don't know how to tell her i don't want to hurt her feelings or anything. She always tells me "oh i'll start a diet tomorrow" and then i ask her if she did and she said i really don't know what to eat. So does anyone have a list of some food she could eat and some exercises so i can help her. I want to cook her some meals that are healthy for her to have for lunch while i'm working and then i will cook her something healthy for supper. But i want to know what kind of healthy foods to cook that will help her lose weight. I have fresh fruit for her to have for a snack but meals well i don't know what to do about those.
